Messina, Etna y Taormina

This tour has a duration of 9 hours.

Your English speaking driver-guide will be waiting for you as you disembark in the port of Messina. Drivers will be holding a sign with your name on it, so there is no way to miss him! We highly recommend leaving the port as soon as possible to avoid traffic and better enjoy your time.

You will be driven in the direction of Taormina, where you will be able to experience the sights of Mount Etna and visit several authentic Sicilian towns, such as Santa Venerina, Zafferana –for honey tasting- and Milo. You will be able to discover the wild nature and vegetation as you ascend to the Mount.

You will arrive at Rifuggio Sapienza Peak (2,000 meters above sea leavel) where it is possible to visit to both the old extinct Silvestri craters and newer craters, as well. You will feel the heat as the lava flows and experience the singular atmosphere of the 'desert moon' .

You will then return through a pine tree forest, a road from where you can see the lava flowing. Towards the end of your excursion, you will visit the beach town of Naxos, the first Greek colony in Sicily, and Taormina, a gorgeous town with a romantic atmosphere and plenty of excellent restaurants, bars, shopping and terraces to relax and enjoy a cappuccino.

You will also visit one of the best preserved Greek-Roman theaters in Sicily, and several antique “Palazzi”.

You will be returning to the port, on time for boarding your ship.
